New Year, Same Theatre You Love
Published on 28 December 2017
2017 only lasted about three months. In that time we completed Act 3, gave the old Penny Farthing pub next door a makeover Stars in Their Eyes would be proud of and introduced our best-selling Christmas show of all time The Scouse Nativity.
It’s been a busy one.
2018 may bring fewer hard hats and hi-vis jackets, but we plough on full-steam ahead to bring you a year full of shows that you will love. We’ve got more on than ever before as we have now opened a brand new venue downstairs at the Court.
Did we mention that it’s also our birthday this year? We are 80 years young and will be putting on events throughout the year to celebrate. Everyone knows you can’t just have one birthday party..
To tie in with our birthday, we are reopening the café in the foyer to bring you Café38. Think veneer furniture, cups, saucers and tasselled lampshades; we are bringing you back to the 1930s. The new café will be open from mid-January.
Finally, we’ve got a cracking line up for you this year in the main theatre.
Her Benny, Council Depot Blues by Dave Kirby, Derren Brown and his bag of tricks, Liver Birds Flying Home for a friendly reunion, Mam! I’m ‘Ere in our disco boogie wonderland and that’s just in the first half of the year. The creative minds in our theatre are putting together more shows as we speak so keep your eyes peeled.
For now, have a happy new year from all of us at the Court.
