We have always promised to try and make the building better for you, the audience, because you are the most important people in the building and we want to make your visits here more comfortable and more enjoyable.
You will be pleased to hear that our priorities are, in no particular order:
• improved toilets
• a lift to circle and balcony
• better bars and public area
• new entrance and foyer
• a new rooftop bar/restaurant (if we do our fundraising well)
This will cost around £10.6 million which sounds a lot we know but it all breaks down into smaller chunks that can be done in stages.
From 12 March 2010 there will be a £1 added onto the price of all tickets to the theatre (except for the £10 shows). This will help towards the fundraising and enable the Trust to access public funds as match funding. With over 200,000 people visiting the theatre each year, the £1 on each ticket will make a substantial contribution to fundraising efforts.

We thank you for any support you can give us and don’t worry, the work will be done without closing the theatre for any length of time so your evenings out will be disrupted as little as possible.
