The Royal Court Theatre has always been a landmark building in Liverpool and has seen truly legendary names perform over the last one hundred years.
Since the summer of 2005 the building has been extensively refurbished - most particularly in the stalls which has been converted into cabaret style seating with tables for drinks and easy access for waiters and waitresses.
Royal Court Liverpool offers a range of long running plays and one off shows. Past one-night performances have seen the likes of Joan Rivers, Russell Howard, Dylan Moran, Simon Amstell and Ben Elton bringing their shows to us. The Downstairs Bar also rocks with comedy every Thursday, Friday and Saturday for Rawhide – our resident comedy club.
In recent months we have seen a long run of successful plays which have brought more than 150,000 people a year through the doors. Smash hit comedies like Brick Up the Mersey Tunnels and Lost Soul have sat side by side with brilliant dramas and rocking musicals like Misery and Our Day Out. We have also been able to showcase work from legendary writers like Alan Bleasdale, Jim Cartwright and Willy Russell.
We are dedicated to producing the very best in comedy, drama and musicals and we are looking forward to being at the heart of great Liverpool Theatre for some time yet…
